LightBringer

 You begged

to become the very essence

of light

you are but a silent plea.

addicted to filling every

blight of doubt

creased into your palms.

Nocturnal eyes

drunk on the notion

of an all-mighty sun

caught in a mirage,

all the while blinded white,

yet the pursuit

ashed your tongue

and fed it back

to earth.

you spill uncannily

bittersweet refrain and sacrifice

cut across your through,

you cannot ignore the darkness

that slips between a sheen rage

lining your iris.

Born to embrace all souls

but your very own

the light

is not for casual claim;

it must be spared

to the cusp of warmth

without the flame.
