i'm not sure i could've guessed that my destiny 

would be cut from my own flesh.

i thought martyrdom would be one moments fiat.

i did not know it would be watered daily with my blood,

that i would be made to butcher myself slowly.

i thought i would die in a burst of fiery defiance-

"Tennōheika Banzai!"

i did not know that i would have to die for Him quietly.

Repeatedly.

And that i would have to hold the sword myself.
